Hi all, as you know Yorkies have single coat, that is hair and for this reason you should use a pin-brush.
Dogs with double coat - fur - can be brushed with a normal brush. As I have those two brushes, after I groom my dog with a pin-brush, I use a softer side of a double-sided brush to make her hair a bit softer. Yorkies don't have undercoat, as opposed to most dogs, which have undercoat plus topcoat. They don't shed topcoat, and that is why they need everyday grooming, cause otherwise hair will become tangled and the only solution will be to crop it short.
Below I post photos of two brushes, so that you could compare the differences between them.
